Chapter 04 — The New York file

Radon testing & mitigation in New York

This site imports no New York state roster, so these are current NRPP and NRSB certifications from those programs’ public finders. A national certification is not a state license. We group people by the city on that file. We do not invent neighborhoods. Source: NRPP.

Latest credential check October 13, 2026. Methodology Individual record dates may be earlier.

How to verify a radon credential in New York

We have not established a New York radon credential. NY DOH says: "NYS does not certify or license radon testers." (read 2026-09-08). We publish that as their statement rather than as our own finding, because a programme can be created at any session and this page is checked monthly, not daily. Listings here are current NRPP or NRSB certifications, which are national and are not a state license.

Questions about radon credentials in New York

Does New York license radon testers and mitigators?

We have not established a New York radon credential. The state's own radon page says: "NYS does not certify or license radon testers." We read that on September 8, 2026 and publish it as their statement rather than as our finding, because a requirement can be created at any legislative session. Ask the New York radon program if you need today's position.

How do I verify a radon credential in New York?

The 163 listings shown here are current NRPP or NRSB certifications, verifiable on those programs' public finders. The latest record check was October 13, 2026; check each listing for its own date. To ask New York directly, contact radon@health.ny.gov or 518-402-7556. If New York does require something we have not found, the agency is the place that will know.

Is an NRPP or NRSB certification enough in New York?

A national certification is never a state license anywhere. For New York we have not established that a state credential exists, and the state's radon page says otherwise in the words quoted above. Treat NRPP or NRSB as evidence of training, and ask the New York radon program what else applies.
